SCBF Scholarship Award
SCBF plan to award a scholarship to the Mid West Band & Orchestra Clinic in Chicago for any band director who manages to achieve a GOLD PLUS AWARD or higher in three consecutive years with the same band in the SCBF National Finals. This SCBF Scholarship counts from the first year of SCBF – 2009.
One additional requirement for band directors eligible for this scholarship, is that in year three they conduct one of their scores from memory at SCBF Finals.
The award will cover the Mid West Conference fee, return air fare and a contribution towards hotel costs.
Only one award will be made in any one year. In a case where two directors achieve the above criteria in the same year, the award will be made in alphabetical order by surname.
In return, band directors who achieve this scholarship will be asked to participate in a filmed interview (which will subsequently appear on the SCBF website), in which they recommend and talk about the best repertoire at each level, and about the whole Mid West Clinic experience.
